- Click "Select folder to convert" to bring up the folder chooser
- (Optional) Set the desired compression level by clicking the down arrow next to "Create TAR.BR File". This will only work with archive formats that support compression.
- Click "Create TAR.BR File". It will start creating the TAR.BR archive from your folder contents.
Once all the files are processed, the "Save tar.br File" button will appear. - Click "Save TAR.BR File" to save the folder archive to your selected destination folder.

What is a tar.br file?
A TAR.BR file combines the TAR archiving format with Brotli compression. The files are first archived using TAR, preserving their structure and metadata, then compressed using Brotli, a modern compression algorithm developed by Google. Brotli typically provides better compression ratios than GZIP while maintaining reasonable processing speeds.
This format is particularly useful for web content delivery and software distribution where file size is critical. The combination provides the reliable archiving capabilities of TAR with Brotlis efficient compression, resulting in smaller file sizes that can be transferred more quickly over networks. When creating TAR.BR archives with ezyZip, date information is not included and empty directories are not added to the resulting archive file.
